Accountabilities
- Conduct original research on AI-enabled cybercrime, autonomous attack techniques, identity-based threats, dark web activity, and emerging offensive AI capabilities.
- Monitor evolving cybercriminal tactics by leveraging extensive threat intelligence datasets to identify new risks and produce actionable intelligence.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert on AI-related cyber threats, supporting customer inquiries and providing strategic guidance.
- Develop and deliver technical briefings, executive presentations, research reports, and threat intelligence updates for customers, partners, and industry communities.
- Present findings at cybersecurity conferences, ISAC meetings, webinars, and executive events, translating technical research into business-focused insights.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, product, and customer-facing teams to strengthen thought leadership, support customer engagement, and contribute to business growth.
- Respond proactively to emerging threats, prioritizing high-impact research opportunities and occasionally supporting urgent investigations outside standard business hours.
- Define long-term research priorities and help establish the organization as a recognized authority on AI-driven cyber threats.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, cyber threat intelligence, law enforcement, intelligence, or related security disciplines.
- Robust hands-on expertise in cybercrime ecosystems, including malware, credential theft, identity threats, underground forums, marketplaces, command-and-control infrastructure, and threat actor behaviors.
- Demonstrated experience conducting independent security research with published articles, conference presentations, media contributions, or other public research achievements.
- Proven ability to investigate emerging cyber threats and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences.
- Experience working within cybersecurity vendors, government cyber organizations, or established threat research teams is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and communication skills with the ability to work independently in a high-autonomy environment.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup setting with changing priorities while maintaining high standards of research quality.
- Nice-to-have qualifications include experience applying AI to detection or threat analysis, software engineering or DevOps knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration with product, marketing, or customer success teams.
