Position Summary

Jayco Builders is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor for a temporary construction project in Vegreville, Alberta.

This is a hands-on field leadership role responsible for coordinating employees and subcontractors, maintaining the construction schedule, enforcing site safety requirements and ensuring work meets project quality standards.

The successful candidate must be able to work on-site in Vegreville for the duration of the project. This position is tied to the assigned project and is expected to conclude when the project work is complete.

Responsibilities

- Direct and coordinate employees, subcontractors and daily site activities.
- Schedule subcontractor work and coordinate construction sequencing.
- Review and understand project drawings, specifications and scope requirements.
- Monitor project progress against the construction schedule.
- Provide accurate and timely updates to the Project Manager.
- Identify and escalate schedule, quality, safety and operational concerns.
- Coordinate site access, material deliveries and equipment requirements.
- Conduct site orientations for employees and subcontractors.
- Lead daily safety meetings and reinforce site-specific safety expectations.
- Enforce company safety policies, procedures and applicable legislation.
- Monitor workmanship and complete field inspections as required.




- Identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective work through completion.
- Maintain effective communication with employees, subcontractors, suppliers, customers and the project management team.
- Maintain site security and report security concerns.
- Ensure change orders, purchase orders, safety forms, invoices and other required documentation are submitted accurately and on time.
- Resolve day-to-day construction issues and maintain forward progress on the project.
- Complete other duties required to support safe and efficient project delivery.

Qualifications

- Minimum five years of commercial, industrial or residential construction experience.
- Previous experience supervising construction employees and subcontractors.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, drawings and specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple trades and competing priorities.
- Strong leadership, communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Practical problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain accountability and professional working relationships.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to complete digital project documentation.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Post-secondary education in construction management,



civil engineering or a related field is considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation to the project site.

- Project risks, delays and deficiencies are identified and addressed early.

- Required project and safety documentation remains current and complete.

Physical and Work Requirements This is an active construction-site position. Candidates must be able to:

- Work indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions.
- Walk active construction sites and navigate uneven terrain.
- Climb stairs, bend, kneel, reach and perform repetitive movements.
- Occasionally lift or move materials weighing approximately 10–50 pounds.
- Work around construction noise, equipment and varying temperatures.
- Manage multiple priorities within demanding project schedules.
