Overview

The Softball Graduate Assistant provides vital coaching, operational, and administrative support to the head softball coach and assistant staff, gaining elite, hands-on experience in a competitive collegiate environment. This role actively assists with on-field player development, daily practices, and game-day preparation, while managing crucial off-field logistics including team travel coordination, equipment inventory, and recruiting database management. Serving as a mentor to student-athletes and a key bridge between players and staff, the position requires a strong softball acumen, a collaborative work ethic, and absolute compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations.

Responsibilities

Actively supports all aspects of the softball program's daily operations,

splitting time between on-field player development and off-field logistics.

Responsibilities include assisting with position-specific drill work, hitting or pitching instruction, and game-day strategy, alongside conducting video analysis to enhance player performance. Off the field, the assistant coordinates team travel arrangements, manages equipment inventory, and assists with recruiting administration, including database updates and campus visit logistics.

Throughout all duties, the assistant helps monitor student-athlete academic progress, assists with youth camps, and ensures strict compliance with all NCAA,

conference, and university rules.

Minimum Qualifications

This individual must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and meet all academic requirements for admission and enrollment into the university’s graduate school program. This position requires prior competitive softball experience, either as a collegiate student-athlete or through a coaching or support role at the high school, travel ball, or collegiate level.

Candidates must demonstrate a strong knowledge of softball strategies and skills, excellent organizational and communication abilities,



and the flexibility to work a demanding schedule that includes nights, weekends, and extensive travel. Proficiency with video analysis software and standard office technology is highly preferred, along with a steadfast commitment to student-athlete well-being and strict compliance with NCAA, conference, and university regulations.
