SSM Wave Prep Operator – Full Time (Midnight Shift)

THE OPPORTUNITY The SSM Wave Prep Operator is responsible for preparing Surface Mount Machine (SSM) production jobs by ensuring all materials, components, feeders, tooling, and documentation are ready prior to production. This role plays a key part in maintaining production efficiency by supporting smooth changeovers and minimizing machine downtime.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Prepare upcoming production jobs by staging materials, printed circuit boards (PCBs), feeders, and tooling.
- Verify components, part numbers, quantities, and revisions against work orders and production documentation.
- Load, organize, and prepare feeders for Surface Mount Machines according to production requirements.
- Ensure all required materials and documentation are available before scheduled production runs.
- Support machine changeovers by preparing equipment and materials in advance.
- Perform visual inspections of components and materials to identify shortages or discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory of feeders, reels, and production supplies.
- Keep workstations organized, clean, and compliant with company standards.




- Communicate material shortages, quality concerns, or production issues to the appropriate team members.
- Assist Machine Operators and other Production team members as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
- Experience with SMT/SSM production, kitting, material handling, or machine preparation is considered an asset.
- Intermediate computer skills with the ability to navigate production software and documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to accurately identify electronic components and part numbers.
- Manual dexterity and the ability to handle small electronic components.
- Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify discrepancies before production begins.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to support production.
- Available to work the midnight shift and overtime as required.
