Duties
- Supervise daily processing activities in forest products manufacturing, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and production schedules
- Coordinate with supply chain teams to manage raw material inventory levels using ERP systems.
- Implement process improvements utilizing lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce waste
- Oversee quality control procedures to maintain product standards and compliance with industry regulations
- Lead assembly line operations, ensuring mechanical systems are functioning optimally through regular inspections and troubleshooting with mechanical knowledge
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process optimization projects, leveraging ERP systems for data analysis and reporting
- Train and develop team members on manufacturing best practices, process standards, and safety procedures
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently
- Experience working with inventory management and production planning
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, including lean manufacturing techniques and process improvement strategies
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles, including MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems
- Proven ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency
- Familiarity with quality control standards within forest products processing environments
- Excellent communication skills for effective team leadership and collaboration across department
- A grading ticket or experience with different grade familararity is preffered
