ABOUT THE TEAM The Construction portfolio within the School of Skilled Trades and Technologies at RRC Polytech equips students with the skills and knowledge to thrive in Manitoba's construction industry.

WHAT YOU WILL DO As an instructor within the Construction, your responsibilities would include classroom instruction, supervision and guidance of students, student evaluation, advising of students, maintenance of student records and other professional duties related to instruction.
Examples of subject areas are trade safety, tools and equipment, plant science, identification, inventory management and installation, soil management, trade documents, layouts and surveying, environmental practices, plant care, propagation and maintenance among others.
The incumbent is also required to participate in department and College committees and assist in student orientation and graduation activities.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING Red Seal certificate in Landscape Horticulture
Post red seal experience in the landscaping horticulture industry
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
Demonstrated leadership skills
Ability to teach on campus and remotely
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
Contacts within the landscaping industry
Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
NICE TO HAVE Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education
Experience developing and instructing distance-delivered courses including online

Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS)



to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction

Ability to create assessments that allow students to use AI responsibly and effectively while demonstrating mastery of course content

Salary Range for this position: $67,069 - $105,146 per annum
Generous Paid Vacation: full-time employees accumulate a minimum of 15-days vacation per year, increasing to 30 days with service, while full-time Instructors accumulate 44 days per year. Information on casual and part-time vacation accrual is outlined in the Collective Agreement or the Terms and Conditions for Excluded Employees as applicable
December Break: employees receive time off with pay during the period between Boxing Day and New Year's Day

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months

Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)

May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
