Our Client is seeking a Senior Technology Architect to support the delivery of a public-facing digital health eForms solution. The initiative will begin with an eForms MVP designed to digitize priority forms identified by the Ontario Medical Association and the Ministry of Health.

The successful candidate will lead the end-to-end architecture and technical direction of a secure, scalable, cloud-based web application. This role requires deep experience in Ontario s healthcare ecosystem, modern front-end architecture, healthcare interoperability, cloud platforms, security, DevOps, and enterprise solution delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of cloud-based web applications.

- Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, patterns, governance, and security requirements.

- Collaborate with Business Analysts to translate functional and non-functional requirements into technical designs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical architecture for secure public-facing digital health solutions.

- Design reusable components, frameworks, libraries, and integration patterns.

- Evaluate technical options and recommend appropriate architecture and solution designs.

- Develop detailed component, integration, and deployment designs.

- Work with Product Management to align the technical roadmap with business priorities and phased delivery plans.

- Create architectural diagrams and technical decision documents.

- Design secure, authenticated applications using OAuth 2.0, JWT, REST APIs, and modern identity standards.

- Support integrations with provincial digital health services, healthcare systems, and data-exchange platforms.

- Design and support HL7 FHIR and SMART on FHIR integrations.

- Collaborate with development, QA, operations, privacy, security, and business teams.

- Review code for quality, maintainability, performance, and compliance with standards.

- Support CI/CD pipelines, build automation,



release management, and deployment processes.

- Implement monitoring, logging, telemetry, and alerting capabilities.

- Troubleshoot application issues and support performance optimisation.

- Provide technical leadership and guidance to developers and delivery teams.

- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

- Maintain comprehensive architecture and technical documentation.

- Support knowledge transfer throughout the assignment and before project completion.

Mandatory Qualifications

- 10+ years of software architecture experience designing and delivering enterprise-grade solutions.

- 10+ years of experience within Ontario s healthcare ecosystem, including Ontario Health initiatives, eHealth integrations, EMR, EHR or HIS systems, and PHIPA requirements.

- Expert-level experience with Angular, TypeScript, and modern front-end architecture.

- Extensive experience developing secure, authenticated, customer-facing applications.

- Strong experience with:

- OAuth 2.0

- JWT

- REST APIs

- .NET Core, Java or Node.js

- Deep understanding of:

- HL7 FHIR APIs

- SMART on FHIR

- Healthcare interoperability

- Healthcare data flows

- Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.

- Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

- Proven delivery experience within Scrum-based Agile teams.

- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide and influence technical teams.

- Mandatory public-sector healthcare experience.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

- Experience with public-facing healthcare applications.

- Strong knowledge of Azure services and AWS.

- Experience with accessibility and security standards.

- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.

- Ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.

- Self-motivated, collaborative, and comfortable working in a complex enterprise setting.
