Job Description: As a member of the Interdisciplinary Team, and under the general direction of the Addictions Counsellor - Degree (Alcohol & Addictions Services Worker), the primary goal will be to restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of people seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related issues by implementing various modalities of addiction recovery programs. Responsibilities include providing informational programming as well as individual and group counselling sessions with clients. "Preference for this positionwill be given to HSAS membersin accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement "

- Experience in a mental health and addictions program required

- Completed social sciences or human services discipline acceptable to employer

- Ability to conduct individual and group counselling/educational programs
- Knowledge of screening and addiction assessment tools and procedures.
- Knowledge and understanding of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing workload
- Knowledge of aboriginal health issues, culture and traditions
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
