Job Title: LIFE SKILLS WORKER | #2223
Service Area: Vocational & Community Services
Location: Vancouver, BC
Start Date: August 17, 2026
Term/Status: Permanent Full Time
Schedule/Hours: Flex-time // 37.5 hours per week (flexible hours)
Hourly Wage: $26.83 - $29.76 as per the collective agreement (2024 rates, implementation of recent collective agreement is in process, and new wage rates $28.46 to $31.57 will be implemented once funding is received)

The Role:

The Life Skills Worker (LSW) position provides life skills training to individuals with disabilities. The successful candidate will teach life skills such as: achieving independence, obtaining identification, touring colleges, banking, applying for Persons with Disabilities Benefits, using transit and preparing for employment.

Requirements/Education/Experience:

- Degree in areas directly related to Social Services, Human Services, or Education.
- 2 years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities in vocational & community settings.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully implement instructional and proactive training programs for clients.
- Experience with principles of positive behavior management is preferred.
- Experience with individuals who deal with concurrent disorders.
- Working knowledge or experience designing and creating curriculum for people with disabilities.
- Criminal Record Clearance
- Medical Clearance
- Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
- Class 5 Driver’s License
- Access to a vehicle
- Valid First Aid/CPR
- Willing to commute throughout Vancouver and Richmond
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification
- Demonstrated competency in English
- Computer literacy
- Eligible to work in Canada

Training is provided for: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification
