Safety & Training Advisor – Mill

Reporting to the Superintendent, Safety & Training, the Safety & Training Advisor – Mill is responsible for providing mill training and other specialized training for all site personnel, collaborating with and creating and maintaining training programs and procedures, liaising with the Mill Operations crew to improve training and safety, and being heavily involved in training and assessing all operations on the surface.

Key Responsibilities

- Mentor and train SGO personnel as required.
- Improve safety and training standards.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and promote company standards.
- Develop and prepare safety and training programs.
- Assess employee training needs using analyses.
- Design and develop training for the mill and other departments.

Knowledge and Skills

- Drive, self‑motivated and passionate approach to the health & safety profession.
- Strong leadership, management, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Positive and proactive attitude toward safety.
- Mine Rescue certificate or instructor qualification is an asset.
- Experience in building and evaluating training programs; ADDIE model knowledge is an advantage.

Education and Experience

- Minimum five (5) years of experience in heavy equipment operations in industry.
- Mining or milling experience as a training specialist.
- Ability to coordinate training activities and maintain administrative functions.




- Conduct theoretical classroom training and practical worksite training.
- Support development, administration and maintenance of safety and training policies and procedures.
- Support all Health and Safety Management Program activities.
- Coordinate and conduct inspections of operations, ensuring strict compliance with company and regulatory H&S; requirements and following up to correct non‑compliance issues.

Working Conditions

This position follows a two (2) weeks on, two (2) weeks off schedule at our remote camp in northern Saskatchewan, with 11‑hour work days and the possibility of unscheduled overtime. The role requires fly‑in/fly‑out travel from Saskatoon, Prince Albert or La Ronge to the site on designated days.
