The Town of Cochrane is seeking a Risk, Regulation & Compliance Advisor to ensure municipal projects meet environmental standards. This role blends field experience with technical reporting, requiring effective communication with contractors and a proactive approach to regulatory challenges.
You will be instrumental in minimizing environmental risks across various initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret environmental legislation for compliance verification
- Monitor construction activities and communicate with contractors
- Collaborate with engineers and planners for issue resolution
- Exercise stop-work authority on risky activities
- Support Environmental Site Assessments and regulatory interactions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in compliance
- Solid knowledge of Alberta environmental legislation
- Familiarity with municipal infrastructure systems
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License
