Empower youth at The Link as a Peer Mentor in the Housing First program. Use your lived experience to guide young adults transitions to reliable housing in Manitoba.
In this engaging role, you will work with individuals aged 18-30 who face housing challenges due to mental illness or other adversities. By sharing your personal journey, you will help participants understand their tenancy responsibilities and build life skills essential for independent living. Collaboration with the Housing First team is pivotal in supporting these youth's personal goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Foster supportive relationships with young adults
• Guide participants in tenant rights education
• Assist in maintaining participants' living environments




• Aid in communication between youth and landlords
• Provide linkage with community resources for conflict resolution
Requirements:
• Personal experience with homelessness or mental health challenges
• Commitment to anti-racism and social equity
• Skills in conflict resolution and crisis intervention
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Must possess a valid driver's license and vehicle
