Starling Community Services is seeking a dedicated Overnight Child and Youth Counsellor I for Safe Haven. This part-time role focuses on supporting youth mental health through supervision and evidence-informed practices.
In this part time position, you will work 27 hours every other weekend at Safe Haven. As a Child and Youth Counsellor I, you'll engage with clients, supporting their participation in programs focused on mental wellness and personal growth. Your role is crucial in promoting a sense of belonging within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and support clients in program activities
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on program goals
• Implement evidence-informed practices
• Foster a sense of equity and belonging in the agency
• Monitor client progress throughout participation
Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in child and youth work
• Minimum one year of relevant experience
• Strong communication and counseling skills
• Completion of C.I.T. or equivalent training
• Current First Aid/CPR certification
