Hourly Compensation: $55-60

Bayshore Medical Personnel is excited to announce a Part‑Time contract opportunity for a Mental Health Registered Nurse to join our team in Esquimalt, BC. This is an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse looking for a day‑shift role (no nights, no weekends) who is ready to work with a unique and rewarding patient population.

Our Mental Health Nurses (MHNs) provide mental health services to our clients in a primary health care setting, where they are responsible for assessment, nursing diagnosis, development and implementation of care plans, crisis intervention, and counseling and life skills programming to the clients in the clinic.

An important part of this role is to provide counseling services in individual and/or group therapy sessions using CBT, DVT, or motivational interview techniques. Candidates should also be skilled in bio‑psychosocial assessments and in conducting medication management from inpatient and outpatient perspectives.

Education / Qualifications

- All nurses working in mental health must be Registered Nurses or Registered Psychiatric Nurses.
- Registered Nurses must, at a minimum, possess:




- A baccalaureate degree in nursing from a recognized college or university with either a certificate in mental health nursing or certification in psychiatric/mental health nursing from the Canadian Nurses Association (CAN).
- A registered nurse licence from the provincial or territorial professional college or association in the province of practice.
- A certificate of basic life support (BLS) for healthcare providers or equivalent such as CPR/AED Level C. Annual recertification is required.

- Registered Psychiatric Nurses must, at a minimum, possess:

- A Bachelor of Science in Psychiatric Nursing or a Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing degree from a recognized university.
- A registered psychiatric nurse practice permit or licence from a province of practice.
- A certificate of basic life support (BLS) for healthcare providers or equivalent such as CPR/AED Level C. Annual recertification is required.
