Department: NorWest Early Learning and Child Care Centre

Position: Early Childhood Educator II (Frontline Staff)

Status: 4‑month term position with possibility of extension

Hours: Full‑time, 40 hours/week

Shift: Must be available Monday to Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Rate: $27.56–$31.49/hour (as per CUPE Daycare Collective Agreement)

Start Date: As soon as possible

Qualifications

- Classification as Early Childhood Educator II
- Solid interpersonal, team building, and leadership skills
- Current first‑aid and CPR certification
- Good understanding of Early Learning and Child Care Program’s Regulations
- Energetic, friendly and enthusiastic
- Willing to take initiative
- Willingness to work with children who require additional support
- Experience in implementing activities for infants is an asset
- Subject to successful criminal record check and investigation authorization/child abuse registry check





Responsibilities

- Ensure the physical care and safety of the children.
- Provide emotional support and nurturing care to children.
- Provide children with the opportunity for optimum growth and development.
- Follow Centre’s behaviour management policy.
- Maintain confidentiality; follow licensing regulations, and follow Centre policies and procedures.
- Mentor staff.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with families and outside agencies.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
