Good Shepherd is seeking a Community Mental Health Worker for McGinty House. Your role involves guiding tenants in crisis management and case planning for recovery.
This is a unique position where you will significantly impact tenants’ lives by providing essential services and support. Candidates should have at least two years' experience in mental health and a background in social or health services, complemented by robust independent judgment. You will also promote a recovery-oriented and consumer-driven practice as you engage with the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage cases and link tenants to valuable community resources
• Perform assessments and create individualized care plans
• Deliver crisis prevention and supportive counseling
• Embody Good Shepherd’s mission values in daily interactions
• Conform to health and safety regulations to protect clients
Requirements:
• Minimum two years in mental health services
• Degree in social or health services
• Familiarity with CPR; must obtain if not certified
• Ability to think creatively and independently
• Commitment to anti-racist and anti-oppressive practices
