We are currently seeking an Associate, Estate to join our team at CI Investment Services Inc. This position will be responsible for various administration and processing activities for estate settlements. Candidate will be responsible for ensuring all information and documentation is received in good order, timely and accurate processing of financial transactions and respond to advisors inquiries within the established service level agreements. In addition, candidate will participate in implementing new developments to our current operation.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Completes ad-hoc outgoing or incoming EFT and wires. Ensures they are on payment reports, as well as internal Back Office systems via journal entries
- Process all cash and securities position movements on deceased client accounts
- Taking ownership in ensuring the process of death settlements are complete in a timely manner.
- Coordinating and collaborating with internal business units to ensure exceptional service is delivered efficiently and effectively
- Conduct adequate due diligence and analysis of all financial/transactional request types/
- Ensuring proper documentation and authorization is obtained prior to processing.
- Manage, respond to, and process requests received through “Estate” mailbox, and CRMs within set SLA.
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing when required
- Communicate with financial advisors and necessary third parties via phone, email, Message serv and/or fax when required
- Handle cleanup reports to ensure all client information is accurately reflected in our records
- Assist with special projects during peak periods as assigned, and contribute to ongoing initiatives undertaken by the department.
- Ad hoc duties relevant to the position shall be assigned as required
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Must Have Bachelor’s degree or job-related experience 1-5 year of experience in the Financial Services industry (including internships) in an Administrative/Operations environment or similar capacity is preferred. Self-initiated, fast learner with a positive attitude. Attention to detail and organization skills with the mindset of how you can make the team more efficient and effective Robust soft skills including verbal and written communication, people, organizational, and client service skills Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business and technology setting Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
NICE to Have
Strong understanding of Registered Products (RRSP, RIF, TFSA, LIRA, LIF, RESP), Estate/Death Settlement is preferred. Extensive knowledge of industry back-office or Operations practices. Prior data entry/financial transaction processing experience. Understanding of investing fundamentals and/or Mutual Funds is considered an asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Overtime may be required during peak periods This role follows our in‑office work model and requires employees to be onsite four days per week to support collaboration and business needs.
Salary and Benefits
This opportunity is for an existing vacancy with the company. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $42,500 to $71,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for participation in a bonus program.
