Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the aquatic facility, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons.
- Assign, schedule, train, supervise and monitor the work of aquatic employees.
- Provide regular in‑service training to ensure staff are currently certified in required areas and to stay up to date with latest industry trends. Provide opportunities to maintain current qualifications.
- Work with partners such as the Lifesaving Society to ensure lessons are current and new initiatives are adopted.
- Schedule advanced courses as needed.
- Follow City of Melfort Safety Plan and ensure all public health regulations are met.
- Collaborate with community organizations and stakeholders to enhance aquatic services.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Current National Lifeguard Certification
- Lifesaving Instructor
- Standard First Aid with CPR C/AED
- Criminal record check with vulnerable sector
- WHMIS
- Pool Operators
- Lifesaving Society Aquatic Supervisor Training (AST)
Abilities & Skills
- Robust leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to plan, organize, schedule, instruct, and evaluate program activities
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to aquatic facilities
