We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Junior CAD Technician / Project Coordinator to join our Western Canada team on a 6-month contract. In this hands‑on role, you will work closely with our engineering and project teams—including internal stakeholders and contractors across Western Canada and the East Coast—to update, modify, and manage critical project drawings and technical documentation. Whether you are a recent graduate or a junior technician looking to build practical industry experience, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain high‑visibility experience in a major industrial sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting & CAD Modifications: Update, modify, and standardize legacy mechanical and technical drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and East Coast contractors to adjust drawings according to live project specifications. Review technical data sheets and maintain strict CAD drafting standards.
- Project Administration & Support: Manage project documentation, organize drawing archives, and assist with technical data management. Assist with operational tasks such as ordering parts, tracking Purchase Orders (POs), and processing project invoices. Maintain clear, proactive communication across multiple time zones.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education/Certification: Completed coursework, certificate, or diploma in Computer-Aided Design (AutoCAD) from a recognized institution (e.g., SAIT, Red Deer Polytechnic, or equivalent).
- Software Proficiency: Hands‑on experience using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in standard office tools, including Google Suite and MS Office (Excel & Word).
- Communication & Flexibility: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with team members in Eastern time zones. A natural mechanical aptitude or practical background (e.g., farming, trades, hands‑on mechanical hobbies) is an asset.
- A fresh perspective and a high level of motivation to streamline drafting workflows.
We thank you for your interest. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
