Job Description

This position is for our Hillcrest Place Home, located in Brandon, Manitoba. What you’ll be doing

- Working closely with nursing this position is directly accountable to the Occupational Therapist (OT) / Physio Therapist (PT) and Resident Program Manager.
- Implements the maintenance of patient programming under the direction of the OT/PT.
- Communicate changes in resident abilities and function to the OT/PT, the unit nurses and the Nursing Rehab lead, to complete the program assigned.
- Prepares apparatus and equipment required for the program.
- Working closely with the wheelchair companies to ensure that the resident adaptive aids are safe and functional.
- Help residents learn skills needed for daily living to improve or maintain resident’s abilities to function independently.
- They also assist in showing residents how to set up and use equipment such as wheelchairs, braces, and walkers.

What you bring

- Post-secondary Therapy assistant diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge / experience working within Rehabilitation and/ or Health Care geriatric population for both well and the cognitively impaired.
