Support the reintegration of stroke survivors by volunteering with March of Dimes Canada in Toronto. The DASH initiative provides at-home assistance for eight weeks post-hospital discharge, focusing on companionship and practical help.
This volunteer chance encourages you to build meaningful connections while helping stroke survivors navigate their recovery journey. You will assist with light domestic tasks and foster engagement in enjoyable activities, filling an essential gap in support through volunteer-led initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct weekly home visits for 8 weeks
• Help with light household duties and meal prep
• Engage stroke survivors in their interests and hobbies
• Provide companionship to alleviate feelings of loneliness
• Assist with local service research for client support
Requirements:
• Over the age of majority in Ontario
• Agree to a background or police records check
• Interpersonal skills and empathy are essential
• Ability to work independently is required
• Commitment to an 8-week volunteer engagement
