As a part-time Peer Support Specialist, you will report to the Sechelt Shelter Manager at the Sunshine Coast Overdose Prevention Site. The role centers on supervising peer teams while fostering a welcoming and safer workplace for drug consumption. Your impact will be through support, organization, and collaboration to reduce stigma in the community, as well as responding to overdose emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise the peer support team during site operations
• Implement harm reduction strategies in client interactions
• Collect and analyze user statistics regularly




• Coordinate with management for efficient site operations
• Provide compassionate support to clients in need
Requirements:
• Diploma in community social services or equivalent
• Two years' relevant experience in mental health and addictions
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Minimum two years of shared lived experience
• Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
