Teach critical ethical perspectives on death in PHL382H at the University of Toronto. This course explores the intersection of ethics, public health, and life-ending decisions.
The Dalla Lana School of Public Health invites applications for a Sessional Lecturer for the Fall 2026 term. This part-time teaching role focuses on in-depth discussions about ethical issues related to death and dying. Candidates must have a PhD and prior experience in teaching bioethics in a university environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver engaging lectures on ethics and death
• Create and evaluate student assignments and performance
• Oversee and support teaching assistants in the course
• Facilitate communication through the Quercus platform
• Foster a supportive learning atmosphere with students
Requirements:
• PhD in Philosophy, Bioethics, or a related field
• Teaching experience in bioethics is essential
• Understanding of public health and ethical theories
• Experience with diverse teaching methodologies
