The ideal candidate will travel throughout the Quebec province to provide live translation services. They are expected to arrive at least 30 minutes before each class to coordinate with the trainer. Responsibilities include delivering real-time translations to students, assisting with PowerPoint presentations, and supporting instruction in both classroom and shop environments by translating while engaging directly with students. This role requires extended periods of standing and being on one’s feet. Candidates must also have and wear appropriate safety equipment, including safety glasses and steel-toe shoes.

Summary

We are looking for a technical translator to join its training and development team based in Candiac to provide live translations from English to French Canadian and French Canadian to English.

Education/Experience

- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
- Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

Responsibility level

Exercises minimal independent judgment with direction from supervisor.

- Fluent in both English and French Canadian, written and spoken (Required)

- Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint (Typically required)

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities

- Provide live translation from French Canadian to English and English to French Canadian during Instructor Led technical trainings
- Offer translation assistance during specific training programs to help workers maintain or improve job skills
- Translate training procedure manuals and guides and course materials such as handouts and visual materials from English to French Canadian
- Offer translation assistance during different instructional techniques and formats, such as role-playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos and lectures
