Duties
- Independently perform all technical aspects of prescription preparation, including compounding and dispensing responsibilities, as per master worksheets.
- Replenish stock medication supplies for assigned areas.
- Ensure patient information is updated and maintained in the pharmacy computer system.
- Complete all required reports and documentation.
- Attend, participate in, and assist with staff and patient training/educational functions.
- Perform workload measurement support functions.
- Perform cross‑functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program at an accredited college or recognized equivalent (required).
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (Part A) in positive standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (required).
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn and troubleshoot changing technologies/machinery.
- Two years practical and related experience preferred.
- Previous hospital experience with unit dose system and intravenous admixture service preferred.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job.
