Position Overview
CtrlAtlas Inc. is seeking a motivated Business Development Representative to generate new opportunities for CIP and help expand our presence throughout Cambridge, Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph and surrounding service areas.
This is not a management position.
The representative will focus on prospecting, local relationship development, lead generation and introducing businesses and property owners to CIP's services.
The position is remote for administrative work but requires regular local field activity. The successful applicant must be comfortable visiting businesses, speaking directly with decision-makers and distributing promotional materials throughout assigned service areas.
Responsibilities
- Identify potential residential, commercial and institutional clients
- Visit local businesses and introduce CIP's services
- Conduct outreach by phone, email, LinkedIn and social media
- Distribute approved brochures, flyers and promotional materials
- Build relationships with property managers, contractors, developers and business owners
- Generate qualified leads and schedule consultations or site assessments
- Maintain accurate records of prospects, conversations and follow-up activity
- Follow up consistently with potential clients
- Learn and clearly explain CIP's security, networking and infrastructure services
- Represent CtrlAtlas Inc. professionally in the community
- Coordinate qualified opportunities with the company’s estimating and operations team
- Support outreach campaigns targeting offices, retail locations, restaurants, warehouses, construction sites and commercial properties
Required Qualifications
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable speaking with business owners and decision-makers
- Able to conduct cold outreach and in-person prospecting
- Self-motivated and capable of managing an independent schedule
- Familiar with Cambridge, Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph and surrounding areas
- Valid driver's licence
- Reliable access to a vehicle
- Smartphone and dependable internet access
- Professional appearance and conduct
- Able to accurately track leads and follow-up activity
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following is considered an asset:
- Outside sales
- Telecommunications
- Security systems
- Construction or contracting
- Property management
- Door-to-door or territory-based sales
Technical installation experience is not required. Training will be provided on the services being represented.
Compensation
This is a commission-based independent sales position with earning potential tied directly to successfully generated and closed business.
The role is best suited to someone who wants performance-based earning potential and is comfortable building a local sales territory.
Specific commission terms, lead ownership, payment timing and performance expectations will be reviewed during the interview process.

The ideal representative is confident, persistent and professional. They are comfortable walking into a business, introducing themselves and starting a conversation with the appropriate decision-maker.
They understand that this position requires more than responding to online inquiries. Success will depend on consistent outreach, local travel, follow-up and relationship building.
