Contribute to the justice system as a Mental Health Court Worker with MPA Society in Surrey. This part time role focuses on advocacy, client support, and developing vital life skills for individuals with mental illness.
This position calls for a committed advocate who aligns with the mission of MPA Society, utilizing principles of Psychosocial Rehabilitation and harm reduction. Responsibilities include attending court, assisting clients in navigating legal processes, and fostering partnerships with various legal and community entities. You will employ strategies that empower individuals while ensuring access to resources and support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advocate for clients in court proceedings and legal matters
• Provide supportive interventions for skill development




• Assess client needs in various settings
• Refer clients to appropriate services and resources
• Accompany clients to critical appointments and meetings
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Two years post-secondary education in mental health or justice
• Two years of relevant experience in the field
• Knowledge of legal and mental health systems
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check required
Advocate effectively for individuals dealing with mental illness within the Surrey court system and assist them in their recovery journey.
