Make a difference as a Youth Worker in a secure facility with Nova Scotia Correctional Services. Engage with youth through programs that promote behavioral change, support reintegration, and ensure safety.
In this challenging role, you will assist in the care and rehabilitation of young persons in custody. Working on a shift basis, your key responsibilities include planning and implementing educational programs like Options to Anger. You will also develop individualized case plans while managing administrative functions related to case documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement youth oriented programs and services
• Develop individualized case management plans
• Administer daily documentation in the case management database
• Monitor and ensure adherence to facility rules
• Conduct counts, searches, and escort procedures
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science or related field
• 2+ years of relevant experience in youth services
• Robust verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lead and solve crises effectively
• Discretion in handling confidential information
