As a Building Operator, you will report to the Facilities Supervisor and work to maintain the operation of various city-owned facilities, including aquatics and community centers. This role demands robust technical skills in plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems, while focusing on safety and community well-being. You’ll oversee building security systems and engage with stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and maintain community and aquatic centers
• Perform plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical maintenance
• Monitor security, fire alarm,
and HVAC systems
• Manage arena ice maintenance and refrigeration operations
• Assist in scheduling and executing facility policies
Requirements:
• 4th Class Power Engineer certification required
• Pool Operator 1 & 2 certification mandatory
• Strong interpersonal and logical decision-making skills
• Valid B.C. Driver’s license (minimum class 5)
• Ability to obtain RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance
