Job DescriptionTo manage and supervise the payroll function at CAMH to ensure payroll transactions are completed in a timely and efficient manner.ResponsibilitiesThis role will be responsible for the reconciliation of payroll and related accounts with appropriate controls, ensuring compliance with all government legislation and corporate policies relating to payroll and human resources. The incumbent will provide leadership, mentorship and supervision for all payroll staff, assign and monitor their work accordingly, and work with the team to develop new processes to improve efficiency and compliance. The position will liaise with all levels of stakeholders within the organization and outside agencies to ensure accuracy and adherence to payroll policies and legislative requirements. The Payroll Manager will audit and analyze payroll reports and oversee the completion of year‑end requirements, including reconciling T4s to the general ledger and other information sources to ensure accuracy. The position will also work with Human Resources, the Information Management Group (IMG), Finance and other key stakeholders as required to ensure CRA compliance, solve payroll related issues, and develop a deep understanding of the payroll system. The incumbent must maintain knowledge of current legislation, CAMH policies, Collective Agreements, and system requirements pertaining to earnings and deductions of employees, and foster a healthy workplace by embracing diversity, encouraging teamwork, complying with regulations, and eliminating harassment and discrimination. This position is located at the Queen Street site.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in finance and a Payroll Management Certification required.Certified Human Resources Skilled (CHRP)
and knowledge of MIS Guidelines (OHA) considered an asset.Seven or more years of progressive payroll experience, including at least five years managing a payroll team.Effective communication, managerial and leadership experience within a fast‑paced diverse team environment.Demonstrated problem‑solving and strategic solutions for systems or technical/process issues.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.Proficiency in ORACLE, PDOC, ROE Web, CSB, RBC Express, MDC Reporter and Microsoft Office 365.Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language is an asset.Compensation & BenefitsSalary range: $112,495.94 – $140,619.93 per year.Potential to progress within the full pay range up to $168,743.91 per year.CAMH’s Total Rewards include participation in the HOOPP defined benefit pension plan, extended health and dental benefits, paid vacation starting at 4 weeks, flexible work arrangements, and ongoing professional development support.CAMH is dedicated to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
