Make a difference in workplace safety as a Safety Specialist with Sofina Foods Inc. This critical role focuses on compliance, risk evaluation, and the promotion of safety practices across the plant.
Directly reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, you will play a key role in analyzing safety data, conducting audits, and implementing strategies to enhance safety. Your influence will guide both management and employees towards a safer workplace culture. Key tasks include managing WSIB claims, conducting training, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Enforce compliance with corporate safety standards
• Evaluate and improve current safety programs effectively
• Conduct research for annual safety plan development




• Manage workplace safety claims and return-to-work processes
• Coordinate incident reporting and regulatory communications
Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in Health and Safety discipline
• 3-5 years in health and safety in unionized environments
• Preferred: CRSP, CHSC, or equivalent safety designation
• Comprehensive knowledge of OHSA and WSIB regulatory frameworks
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities
