THE OPPORTUNITY
At TechInsights, our Co-op Student Program is founded on the principle of nurturing the next generation of talent by providing an immersive and enriching work experience.
We aim to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application, offering students the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a dynamic and innovative industry. Through this program, we strive to foster a culture of mentorship, collaboration, and continuous learning, empowering co-op students to contribute meaningfully to our projects and initiatives.
While working in the role of Teardown Lab Co-op Student, you will be working hands-on in a fast-paced lab workplace. You will be responsible for documenting the disassembly of consumer electronic devices through high-resolution photography, as well as identifying and cataloging the components found inside and entering them into our inventory management system. In this role you will be working with DSLR cameras, photo-editing software, hand tools (screwdrivers, cutting tools, wrenches, prying tools, etc), and power tools (drills, cutting tools, heat guns, etc). In addition to this, you will gain some hands-on experience with specialized lab equipment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Disassembly of Consumer Electronics
- Capturing High-Quality Photos of the Disassembly Process
- Identifying and Cataloguing of the Electronic Components and Sub-Systems.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Must be a post-secondary student enrolled in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related fields.
- Keen interest in or experience with Microelectronics.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to work in a team environment and on self-directed projects.
