As a Casual Custodian, you will work primarily alone after school hours under the supervision of the Operations Supervisor. Key responsibilities include performing major interior cleaning, checking facilities before and after public usage, and adhering to safety procedures. Your actions will create a comfortable atmosphere for staff, students, and visitors alike.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain cleanliness of District buildings and facilities
• Monitor public use and report safety concerns
• Perform major cleanings such as waxing and window washing
• Check fire extinguishers and emergency equipment regularly
• Carry out winter maintenance tasks like snow shoveling
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of cleaning products and practices
• First Aid Certificate is a plus
• Familiarity with the District Custodian Handbook
• Understand WHMIS and safety procedures
