Employer Relationship Specialist - Calgary

Salary Range: $32.04 To $33.83 Hourly

Wage: $32.04 to $33.83 per hour
Status: Full‑Time, Permanent
Hours of Work: 36 Hours per week
Location: The primary work location for this position will be our Open Door Group Calgary location at Suite 150, 707 10th Avenue SW.
The Employer Relationship Specialist is responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong partnerships with employers to drive employment outcomes for clients accessing Open Door Group services. The role proactively identifies and engages prospective employer clients, while providing targeted marketing and placement support to case managers to facilitate a range of employment outcomes. This includes rapid job matching, work connections, and customized employment placements. Significant outreach and travel are required, and access to a vehicle is essential.
The ideal candidate has robust relationship‑building and consultative sales skills, a deep understanding of local labour market trends, and the ability to connect job seekers with employers through clear communication, strategic marketing,
and effective use of job‑matching tools. Success requires consistently high‑quality service, strong organizational abilities, and adaptability in a fast‑paced setting.

Qualifications
- Diploma in Marketing/Sales, Business, or Human Resources.
- Recent, related experience of three years or an equivalent combination of education,
training, and experience.
- Other qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work.
- Valid BC driver’s license and use of a motor vehicle.
- Maintain a satisfactory criminal record, including vulnerable sector check.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Build strong relationships with employers, partners, and people from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of Disability, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) employer resources, training, and communities of practice.
- Understanding of the human rights code and relevant laws.
- Consultative sales approaches.
- Knowledge of labour market trends and ability to spot current business opportunities.
- Experience finding and screening job candidates.
- Promote job seekers to employers and explain available services.
- Use job‑matching software to connect candidates with the right roles.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, both in speaking and writing.
- Speak with senior leaders across industries.
- Comfortable giving presentations to large groups.
- Resolve conflicts calmly and respectfully.
- Work well independently and as part of a team.
- Provide consistent, high‑quality service in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and databases.
