Job Description
This position works as part of an interdisciplinary primary health care team. Under the direction of the Primary Health Care Manager, the Nurse Practitioner will provide primary health services to the community of the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for clients in the community both independently and collaboratively with a physician, depending upon the complexity of client needs. This includes:
health promotion and protection; first line treatment and emergency services; provision of supportive counselling and instruction in management of medical conditions; disease and injury prevention; initiating and conducting community needs assessments and participating in evaluative projects; and collaboration with and referral to other health care professionals as required.

Experience
- 3 years experience as an RN in critical care, ER, acute care or primary care.
- One year experience in community needs assessment, development or health promotion.
Education
- Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN‑NP)
Licenses
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Other Education and Training
- Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Specialization
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)
- Knowledge in philosophy and principles of holistic health care
- Ability to adapt to and implement change
- Positive approach to deal with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity
- Knowledge of common medical conditions and treatments
- Ability to take initiative
- Knowledge of community programs and services
