Arena Operator -Part-time Permanent

The Role

- Providing manual labour duties related to maintaining ice and equipment;
- Ensuring the arenas and recreation facility common areas are maintained in proper and safe condition for public enjoyment;
- Providing exceptional customer service;
- Assisting with crowd control and basic security;
- Operating the ice-resurfacing machine and power edger to ensure Arenas ice surfaces are maintained, including ice making, removal and maintenance;
- Opening and closing recreation centres as required;
- General plumbing repair and maintenance.

What you Bring

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is equivalency to:

- High School diploma with specialized training recognized by a certificate;
- 3 or more years related work experience representing continuous learning and career progression required;
- Possession of Arena Operator Level 1, or willing to obtain;
- A valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license (non GDA) with less than 6 demerit points and no suspension or pending suspensions, required;
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and environmental conditions;
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;




- Strong attention to detail, time management and problem-solving skills.
