- Graduation from high school or equivalency?
- Graduation from an approved LPN Educational program.?
- Current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CLPNNL)?
- Successful completion of Breastfeeding Essentials or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by Employer)?
- Knowledge of computer skills and an ability to work with computer programs is an asset;?
- Completion of the Health Assessment Course. , Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR)?
- Completion of Gentle Persuasive Approach Course (GPA) or willingness to complete?
- Completion of, or willing to complete MOAB training.?
- The successful applicant will be required to submit , satisfactory certificate of conduct and vulnerable sector check
Duties
- Completes nursing assessment consistent with LPN scope of practice?
- Participates in the development, revision, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans?
- Provides safe, competent, and ethical nursing care and make decisions within the LPN scope of practice?
- Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient plan of care?
- Practices independently according to skilled and organizational standards?
- Documents according to professional and organizational standards?
- Maintains competency and updates knowledge by availing of educational opportunities?
- Participates in quality assurance/improvement activities?
- Represents nursing on various committees such as Nursing Unit Council and other committees as deemed necessary?
- Works collaboratively with multidisciplinary team?
- Keeps current with changes by monitoring communications (i.e. verbal, e-mail, communication book etc?
- Administers medication?
- Provide support to Acute Care as Required?
- Other related duties as required.
