Enhance family connections as an On-Call Family Time Support Worker with The Family Centre, focused on trauma-informed care and relationship building. Support children and parents to thrive during family time together.
This casual role at The Family Centre involves supporting marginalized families involved with Children and Family Services, particularly First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and refugee families. You will assist parents in developing parenting skills while fostering robust parent-child attachments through effective engagement and teaching. Your efforts will directly contribute to improving family dynamics and support for children in care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate family time between children in care and parents
• Teach parenting skills through play and routine
• Transport parents and children to appointments
• Complete documentation accurately
• Attend mandatory training sessions
Requirements:
• Diploma or Degree in Human Services field
• Experience with Child & Family Services is an asset
• Cultural competency, especially with Indigenous families
• Strong communication skills both oral and written
• Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
