Become a vital part of Pacific Community Resources Society as a Youth Support Worker. Support Chilliwack youth aged 13-18 in a therapeutic, recreation-based treatment program focusing on substance use and emotional well-being.
This auxiliary overnight position within the Traverse program requires a compassionate individual who understands trauma-informed practices. As a Youth Support Worker, you will foster emotional regulation, facilitate group programming, and be a positive role model. Your involvement supports youth facing behavioral and mental health challenges in a diverse, inclusive workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support daily needs of program participants
• De-escalate crises and resolve conflicts
• Facilitate group programming related to mental health and substance use
• Encourage participation in all activities and adapt groups accordingly
• Complete daily documentation and manage care team updates
Requirements:
• Knowledge of addictions and mental health challenges
• Experience working with diverse youth populations
• Effective communication and documentation skills
• Self-awareness of personal biases and burnout signs
• Ability to dispense medication as needed
