The salary range for this position is CAD $29.89/Hr. - CAD $39.24/Hr.

Job Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Medical Affairs, the Medical Administration Coordinator & Assistant provides direct administrative and operational support to the local and Associate Local Medical Directors within the designated Community of Care (CoC). The role coordinates medical credentialing and privileging, manages annual reappointment activities, and maintains all medical staff and locum provider records within the electronic credentialing database while ensuring compliance with bylaws, rules, and regulatory requirements.

The position supports physician and medical staff payment processes—including coordination and submission of payments for on‑call coverage, sessional work, locum support, and other approved remuneration streams—and administers rural benefits and incentive programs, including claim coordination, documentation, and communication related to rural retention, locum support, travel, and associated benefit processes.

Additional responsibilities include supporting medical leadership governance activities, coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, minutes, correspondence, and other documentation for the Local Medical Advisory Committee (LMAC), Associate Local Medical Directors, and other site‑based medical leadership functions. The incumbent also prepares accurate documents and correspondence, supports medical staff onboarding and operational workflows, assists with medical staff inquiries and issue resolution, and helps coordinate meetings and portfolio priorities.

Education & Experience





- Diploma in a related program plus three to five (3‑5) years of recent, related experience in a complex health care environment with progressively more responsible secretarial and administrative positions supporting senior level management, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Advanced word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software skills; able to type a minimum of 60 words per minute.

Knowledge & Abilities

- Exercising considerable judgment, tact and discretion in handling confidential or sensitive information.
- Liaises professionally and courteously with senior leaders, managers, staff, and external suppliers to gather and disseminate information.
- Communicates clearly, persuasively, both verbally and in writing.
- Utilizes investigative and analytical skills to effectively administer program requirements, applying excellent time‑management to prioritize and complete assignments that optimize departmental effectiveness and organizational success.
- Employs expertise in computer software applications to create documents; practices care and thoroughness when entering and maintaining system information, calculating and summarizing data,



and compiling reports.

As required by Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers in publicly‑funded facilities must report past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. This information will be requested during onboarding to ensure appropriate vaccination and infection prevention measures.
