The Vintage Cellar Hand works closely with the Winemaking team during the harvest season in the creation of our award‑winning BC VQA wines.

Responsibilities

- Grape processing: Grape and juice reception, destemming, crushing, and pressing.
- Fermentation management: Inoculations, nutrient additions, sampling, pump overs, punch downs, sugar monitoring, and digging out of fermenters.
- Cellar work: Barrel work, racking, product transfers, product blending, and product additions.
- Cellar sanitation: Tank & barrel cleaning, and general cleaning of facility and winery equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures as directed by standard operating procedures.
- Work order completion and compliance.
- Safe operation of cellar forklift and other winery equipment (training provided).
- Inventory control.

Qualifications

- High school diploma minimum.
- Strong commitment to quality with attention to detail.
- Strong team player.
- Valuable problem‑solving abilities along with basic logistic skills required.
- Ability to work shifts/weekends.
- Knowledge of safe cellar practices, including safe handling of chemicals.




- Ability to be trained in confined space entry and forklift operation.
- Knowledge of winery cellar operating procedures.
- Ability to understand and perform mathematic calculations.
- Ability to lift 55 lbs.
- Ability to work at heights.

Additional Information

Limited staff accommodation is possible for duration of Harvest. You will need a valid work permit for Canada (Canadian Working Holiday Visa). No Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) will be undertaken. Target dates for employment would be August 17th to November 20th.

Compensation

$22-25 hourly. OT is 2x wage.
