Prepares food in accordance with applicable corporate standards, guidelines and regulations with established policies and procedures. Ensures quality food service is provided at all times.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Ensure that all stations remain stocked before and during the meal period
- Verify that kitchen staff follow all recipes and portion servings correctly
- Receive product by verifying invoice and freshness of merchandise
- Train employees to company standards

Qualifications

- Professional cooking certificate from an accredited institution
- Two years previous experience as a cook
- Basic math skills
- Commitment to quality service and food and beverage knowledge
- Knowledge of local, provincial and federal health and sanitation laws
- Understanding of proper use and maintenance of major kitchen equipment, including stoves, refrigeration, and dish machine
- Experience working in food preparation in a high-volume hotel/lodge environment
- Food Safe Certified
- Ability to pass a medical, drug screen, and background check
- Professional communication skills, oral and written
- Ability to work in a high-energy and demanding environment
- Organization and leadership skills
- Offshore experience cooking for 150 people preferred

Mandatory Certificates

- STCW-Basic Safety certification
- Cook Ship's proficiency
- Security Awareness for Mariners
- MED DSV-Domestic Vessel Safety
- Marine Adv. First Aid
- A Marine Medical
- CPR
- WHIMS Training
- Mandatory Reliability Check: Obtain the Enhanced Reliability Check (ERC)

Postition Requirements





- Valid Canadian passport (due to the nature of this position PR status is not accepted)
- Government Personnel Screening Clearance
- Pass a Drug & Alcohol Test
- Rotation: 42 Days On/42 Days off
- Shift: 12hr/Day

Working Conditions

At times, you will work in hot or cold areas; the area becomes congested and noisy during busy periods. Physical demands include a lot of standing, walking and heavy lifting. There are multiple hot surfaces, wet floors, sharp knives and other implements.
