As a Summer Steward, you will volunteer at Downsview Park, helping care for young plants and participating in important stewardship activities. Learn about local ecology, plant care, and community engagement through hands-on experience every Saturday morning. This role allows for personal growth and environmental contribution.
Key Responsibilities:
• Attend weekly stewardship meetings each Saturday
• Water and maintain young trees and wildflowers
• Engage in collecting and removing invasive species
• Learn plant identification and care techniques
• Collaborate with fellow environmental enthusiasts
Requirements:
• Must be 16 years or older
• Own a cell phone
• No gardening experience is required
• Enthusiasm for outdoor recreation and environmental education
• Commitment to Saturday morning sessions
