Gain hands-on experience at New Gold as a Co-op Engineering Student, working with mine planning and ventilation teams at the New Afton mine in Kamloops, BC. This valuable role offers a flexible, hybrid schedule for aspiring engineers.
As part of the Technical Services department, you will join for an 8, 12, or 16-month term, starting September 2026. Your role will focus on updating mine development prints, assisting with ventilation audits, and contributing to production support. If you’re eager to develop your engineering skills within a safety-oriented mining environment, this is the opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities:
• Update and issue mine development and ventilation prints
• Assist in ventilation audits and air flow balancing
• Conduct QA/QC of mine development projects
• Support production data management in Deswik software
• Engage in underground inspections and geological reviews
Requirements:
• Enrolled full-time in an accredited undergraduate engineering program
• Completion of first year in Mining or Geological Engineering preferred
• Experience in a co-op program is an asset
• Valid Driver’s License with personal transportation access
• Familiarity with 3D design software and Microsoft Excel
