Become an essential part of the McBride Schools team as an On-Call Casual Custodian. This role requires routine cleaning and security responsibilities, with shifts primarily from 2:30 pm to 11:30 pm and weekends.
In this position, you will work under the general direction of the School Principal or Department Head and contribute to a clean and protected environment for students, staff, and the community. Key skills include the ability to perform physical tasks and use heavy equipment while maintaining confidentiality and tact in interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Mop, sweep, and wax floors as needed
• Clean and sanitize washrooms and classrooms
• Lock doors and secure windows after shifts
• Dispose of refuse and manage wastepaper receptacles
• Test fire alarms and assess emergency situations
Requirements:
• Building Maintenance Certificate or six months experience
• Ability to operate heavy cleaning equipment
• Basic computer skills required
• Ability to plan and organize workload effectively
• Must have good communication skills in English
