Join the Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie as a full time Recreation Therapist. Develop and implement individualized recreation therapy programs while providing support to clients and their families.
This role requires creating recreational activities that promote activation and respite for clients living with dementia. You will travel within the Sault and Algoma District, maintaining a caseload and collaborating on client assessments. With a focus on education and community engagement, you'll play a vital role in promoting therapeutic recreational activities among stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop individual recreation therapy programs for clients
• Conduct weekly programs and evaluations with clients
• Maintain accurate client documentation in electronic systems




• Collaborate on intake assessments for potential clients
• Educate families on appropriate recreational activities
Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in Recreation Therapy required
• Experience working with dementia patients and their families
• Standard First Aid/CPR certification needed
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle access required
• Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
