Elevate your research career with Sunnybrook Research Institute as a Virology Research Coordinator. This role involves lab work in virology, including cell cultures and analysis of patient samples.
As part of Dr. Kozak's team at one of Canada's top research hospitals, you will assist in clinical lab projects focusing on viral pathogenesis and diagnostics. Your work will involve wet-lab tasks in both BSL2 and potentially BSL3 environments. Flexibility may occasionally be required, but the standard hours are Monday to Friday, 9 to 5.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with ongoing lab research on emerging viruses
• Conduct cell culture and animal studies as needed
• Participate in patient sample review and analysis
• Manage reagent ordering and lab operational duties
• Support training of new lab team members in protocols
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science in a relevant field required
• Minimum 1 year experience in a clinical laboratory
• At least 2 years in a research laboratory
• Proficiency in scientific writing and communication
• Willing to be trained for animal work as needed
