NOC Job Code/Title: 44101 - Home support workers, caregivers and related occupations

Anticipated start date: As soon as possible

Duration: 1-year full-time contract

Hours: 9am – 3pm Monday to Friday (* some evening/weekend work required)

Work Setting: private home

Requirements

- Some secondary school
- Completion of a training program in care of the elderly, care of persons with disabilities, convalescent care or a related field
- First Aid/CPR certification
- 1+ year of prior experience working in home care or a related field
- Ability to pass a background check and provide skilled references
- English language ability

Duties

- Providing care, companionship and emotional support
- Preparing meals consistent with specific dietary requirements
- Providing mobility assistance, including helping client to move around home safely




- Assisting with daily living activities in which client requires support, such as shopping
- Assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, vacuuming and dishwashing
- Assist in pet care (rescue dog)

Personal suitability

Initiative; reliability; organization; flexibility. Must be comfortable with large dog.

Repetitive tasks; Work under pressure; Physically demanding.
