This role as a First Year Advisor for International Student Success requires a proactive approach in advising students about academic policies and financial options. You will work closely with diverse student populations, facilitating workshops that equip first-year engineers with vital academic and life skills. Your contributions will directly impact the retention and success of international students navigating their first year.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advise on academic and financial matters tailored to individuals
• Support students through the petitions and appeals process
• Deliver detailed information on course eligibility and deadlines
• Facilitate educational seminars and workshops
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to delivery processes
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with relevant experience
• Four years in advising or student services
• Three years in student programming and facilitation
• Knowledge of academic policy implementation
• Empathy in supporting at-risk students
