- Work closely with Senior Associates and Managers on audit, client service and review engagements
- Review client files to understand client businesses and develop technical audit skills
- Research and maintain strong understanding of the client’s business
- Assist with the creation of financial statements including customized note disclosure as required
- Identify accounting issues and collaborate with Senior Associate or Manager to develop work plans
- Perform assigned assurance procedures and completes sections of the file under the supervision of the lead or Senior Associate
- Develop questions to ensure reporting information is tested and demonstrates a reasonable understanding of client challenges
- Prepare corporate tax returns as needed
- Respond promptly and proactively to clients
Requirements
- Pursuing a Canadian CPA designation
- Completion of a Bachelors degree majoring in Accounting, Commerce or Business
- Under two (2) years experience with a public accounting firm focused on assurance accounting and tax
- Knowledge of CaseWare and TaxPrep is an asset
- Solid understanding of business professionalism and the ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication
